KING LAMENTS THAT HE HAS NOT QUEEN
MORDECAI AND ESTHER
Mordecai laments that Esther is not married and she is getting old. Esther says she is interested in a career and travel
Makin’ Whoopee – Esther and Mordecai
Sisters enter and want to know if Esther has met anyone. They beg her to marry

ENTER HASIDS
Several times Hasids enter complaining that the story is not following the traditional plot. Narrator explains that this year a few liberties are being taken.

MORDECAI AND HIS WIFE
Mordecai’s wife is a nag. She tells Mordecai that the King is looking for a wife and is having a contest. She has obtained an application for Esther. Esther enters and Mordecai’s wife talks to her.

HASIDS ENTER
MORDECAI AND SCHMALTZ
Narrator is scratching. Mordecai enters and spritzes him with schmaltz. He explains that schmaltz is the cure all for everything

INTRODUCTION OF HAMAN
C’est Moi – Haman
Haman meets with king and explains that he wants to kill the Jews. King is too busy worrying about finding a queen and he agrees.
THE CONTEST
A group of women are concerned that Esther is not prepared to meet the King. She enters dressed in dowdy coat. They form a line in front of Esther. As they sing, Esther transforms into beautiful gown, etc.

Mordecai spritzes her with schmaltz. Esther exits and returns as new queen
If They Could See Me Now – Esther
MORDECAI’S SHOCK
Esther tells Mordecai that she is marrying Ahasuerus. It is then that Mordecai realizes that Ahasuerus is not Jewish.
I’m Reviewing the Situation – Mordecai
Mordecai’s wife suggests that they have a party and invite the King and his family
HASIDS ENTER
MEETING OF THE FAMILIES
Ahasuerus enters and introduces his family—his two parents.
Mordecai enters with a huge family. He introduces everyone—all children are named Malka, Shloine and Fayge Devorah. King’s parents are appalled. Someone goes to parents and tells them Yiddish phrase to repeat. It means “your head should grow like an onion with it in the ground and your feet in the air.” The Tanta enters and tells about her protrusion, the “bipopsy” and the results that it was a matzah ball enlarging in her stomach. The parents bring something to the party---ham biscuits.

Haman talks to King about finishing his plan to get rid of Jews. King reveals that he is now Jewish. Haman realizes that he is doomed. He sings his swan song
